“Peacock Wrasse & Ornate Wrasse Sharing Food” Project Picture 38/365
Nikon D90 Nikkor 60mm 1/160 f/13.0 ISO 100
When I took this shot I wasn’t sure I had caught the fish in sharp focus as I was looking at a different place and suddenly saw what was about to happen so I had no much time to make a change neither on the camera set up nor the strobe position. Fortunately the settings were good enough and the image has just required some level and contrast adjustments.
I have seen many times a Peacock Wrasse ¨Symphodus Tinca¨ behaving like this, they bite the bottom, filter the food on the mouth and then throw the remains, sometimes they reabsorb it again but I don´t know why, may be they are just playing or they feel there was still something interesting left; in this occasion an Ornate Wrasse ¨Thalassoma Pavo¨ was waiting to get the left overs, and he did actually :-).
Just after taking the shot I looked at the lcd screen and the scene seemed to be well captured although I thought the Ornate was a bit dark and completely out of focus but luckily it wasn’t and I quite like the result.
Justo después de que hacer la foto miré la pantalla y la escena parecía estar bien capturada, pero me daba la sensación que el Pez Verde me había quedado un poco oscuro y completamente fuera de foco, por suerte no fue así y me gusta bastante el resultado.
